60 foot waffle boxcar on the fair in Dresden
Sometimes positive surprises come your way, as happened at the Dresden fair. Not only the CSX waffle boxcar but also the Milwaukee version were presented to me. I was convinced that the number of details to be printed on this Milwaukee boxcar was too high to make this car possible and believe me, attaching decals to this car is a real nightmare.
I was wrong, see for yourself.
This is TT West's reference:
and this is the prototype with the decals:
And of course the CSX version:
Please feel free to give feedback. . .

Fair in Dresden
Today I am leaving for a small fair in Dresden, Germany, which in itself is not that important for US TT, except for the fact that I will be seeing many people like the Beckert family, scenery makers. I hope to receive the first production run of my new US TT warehouse. If so, I will post a picture later this weekend!
Even more important is the new CSX waffle boxcar, I expect to see the first prototype. Next Monday I will present it on my blog.

The first Blog
My name is Rob Dikken and I have a dream:
Bringing scale TT back to the US where it was invented and where it all started.
In 2013 a Czech company, called MTB, asked if I would be interested in selling a US model in scale TT (1:120), the SW1200, in Europe. Somebody else was doing this in the US. I said yes and I was astonished to learn that there were no US prototype freight cars, no track and no scenery or structures to be found or if there were, only produced in small series for high prices. The exception were the 40 foot boxcars from Gold Coast, an American company, but unfortunately not active anymore.
So I thought, we need more professionally produced US freight cars and other stuff at normal prices to make American train models in gauge TT more attractive for users. The models has to be ready-to-run and not some self-assembled and un-painted resin kit.
In this blog I will tell you how I am slowly trying to achieve better availability of these models. Next time something more about the Gold Coast boxcars.
